L for Luster

All the big talk about the L series. I have several L’s. Does it make me better? “Yes” Does it make my images better? “Yes” , but its not the sharpness, or the red band. Don’t get me wrong, the L is way way sharp now. Well what is it? Short answer, the dramatic color. They are so rich and vibrant right out the box. The 300 2.8 and the 70-200 2.8 does stupid things with your image colors. And the 135 2.0 is ill. Possibly the most sick of all the L’s. Don’t use this lens as short tele. It will not perform no better than a basic short 135 tele and will make you feel cheated. Use it to lay subject on creamy brokeh and watch the image captivate and pull you in. The 16-35, 28-70, 70-200 2.8’s, 135.2 300 2.8 in that order. End of story.
